The race
The XXIII Trofeo Podistico Francesco Pipitone is a road race in Altofonte, in the province of Palermo, organised by A.S.D. Marathon Altofonte. It takes place on Sunday 25 October 2026 and is a round of the provincial Grand Prix, listed in the FIDAL regional calendar.
The main race for Juniors, Promesse, Seniors and Masters covers 6 km and starts at 11:00 from Piazza Falcone e Borsellino. Youth races, from Esordienti to Allievi, run from 9:30, while men aged 70+ and women aged 60+ in the Masters categories race over 3.6 km.
Course
The course is an undulating town loop of about 1.2 km, closed to traffic, starting and finishing in Piazza Falcone e Borsellino. It winds through the streets of the old town, mixing climbs, descents and flat stretches.

Rules and requirements
- FIDAL membersMembers of an Italian athletics club (Italian Athletics Federation).
- RuncardFIDAL card for runners without a club: buy it online and pair it with a competitive athletics medical certificate.
- Sports promotion bodiesMembers of an Italian sports promotion body recognised by FIDAL, with a competitive medical certificate.
Open to:
- FIDAL members for 2026;
- Runcard or Runcard EPS holders;
- members of sports promotion bodies (EPS) affiliated with FIDAL.
Runners not registered with FIDAL need a competitive sports medical certificate for athletics. Entries are made on the Speedpass portal by Thursday 22 October 2026; the fee for the main race is €12, paid by bank transfer. Until Saturday 24 October the organisers may accept late entries with a €2 surcharge, without a guaranteed race pack; there are no race-day entries.
Timing is by Speedpass, with a chip to be returned at the finish. Trophies go to the first man and first woman overall, and the top three in each category receive prizes.
