The race
The 10 km della Perla dello Jonio is Soverato's national road race, now in its fourth edition, organised by ASD Poliporto Soverato and also awarding the Salvo Criscuolo Special Prize. The start is at 10:00 from Viale Cristoforo Colombo, at the Nunzio Marino ground, on a certified, flat circuit closed to traffic, run three times through the seaside area outside the old town.
The time limit is an hour and a half, and the 15 euro fee includes a technical shirt for the first 400 entrants, a medal and a pasta party. Right after comes Corri al Nostro Fianco, a non-competitive 5 km family run supporting the Catanzaro association for blind and partially sighted people.
