The race
The GetPRO Bath Half is one of the UK's most prestigious half marathons: first held in 1982, it is run every March through the heart of Bath, the UK's only World Heritage City. It is the largest charity fundraising event in south-west England, with more than £30 million raised for good causes.
The 2027 edition takes place on Sunday 14 March, starting at 10:30 from Royal Victoria Park. The fast, flat course is two laps on traffic-free streets; more than 12,500 people took part in 2026.
It is a top-level race too: in 2026 it hosted the British trial for the World Road Running Championships, won by Joe Wigfield (62:07) and by Alex Bell in a women's course record of 69:15; the men's record belongs to Matthew Mbithi (61:44, 2016).
The weekend includes:
- Saturday 13 March: the free family GetPRO Bath Miles in Royal Victoria Park, with a souvenir medal for everyone
- Sunday 14 March: the half marathon
Since 2024 the event has been organised by London Marathon Events.
The course starts in Royal Victoria Park and covers two laps of the same loop through central Bath on traffic-free roads. It is considered fast and flat.
The route
Before the second lap there is a one-time circuit up Pulteney Road, turning on Great Pulteney Street, the city's grand Georgian avenue. The official route is published on Strava.

Rules and requirements
Who can take part
The half marathon is open to anyone aged 17 or over on race day. You can take part in a wheelchair or with another assistive device, including being pushed, if you say so when entering; runners who need a Support Runner can apply for a free place for them.
Entry
2027 entries opened on 15 March 2026 on the Let's Do This platform. General Entry has sold out: charity places remain, from £20 plus a minimum fundraising pledge (for example £275 for Alzheimer's Society). The Bath Miles are free: a Family Wave with no age limit and Under-11 and Under-14 waves.
Time limit and start
The start is at 10:30, elites first and then the mass field in waves: you can move back to a later wave, not forward. Everyone has at least 4 hours 30 minutes to finish: the finish closes at 16:00, and slower participants can continue on the pavement with the team. Pacers cover 1:30 to 3:00.
Event pack and bag drop
The pack with race number and kitbag is posted to you; runners living outside the UK collect it in Bath before the race. The bag drop at the start takes one rucksack or small bag per person.
Refunds and transfers
No refunds, deferrals or transfers: entries are personal (London Marathon Events General Conditions of Entry).
