The race
The TUSEM Essen Blumensaatlauf, held in memory of August Blumensaat, closes the season on Saturday 21 November 2026 at Lake Baldeneysee in Essen-Kupferdreh: it is the 35th edition.
The out-and-back course on the lake's south shore is flat, fully paved and closed to traffic, ideal for personal bests. The 10K starts at 12:30 and the half marathon at 14:00, with a 2 hours 30 limit; each race is capped at 750 runners, and the half costs 28 euros until 15 November.
