The race
The Costa dei Trabocchi BCC Half Marathon reaches its 4th edition on Sunday 25 October 2026: first held in 2023, it is a FIDAL-certified Bronze-level half marathon and this year also hosts the Italian Masters Individual and Club Half Marathon Championship. It runs along the Via Verde of the Costa dei Trabocchi, in Abruzzo, from the port of Ortona to Fossacesia Marina, through the towns of Ortona, San Vito Chietino, Rocca San Giovanni and Fossacesia.
The course is completely flat, between the sea and the hills, and passes the trabocchi, the old wooden fishing structures that stand over the water. Only the half marathon is held, with no non-competitive races. The start is at 9:00; bibs and race packs are collected on Saturday 24 October at the Expo Village in the Ortona sports hall.
The 1,800 places with race pack are sold out: entries without race pack, with medal, remain open until 18 October. Besides the FIDAL rankings there are special rankings for employees of the Banche di Credito Cooperativo and for lawyers (Avvocati-Run).

Course
The race starts at 9:00 from the port of Ortona and finishes in Fossacesia Marina: a 21.097 km point-to-point course, FIDAL certified, entirely flat and all on the Via Verde cycle path, watched over by the municipal police and volunteers until the last runner has passed. By order of the Prefect the course is reserved for the race from 9:00 to 12:00.
Along the way it passes Marina di San Vito and Rocca San Giovanni, between pebble beaches, cliffs over the sea and trabocchi. There are five aid stations, where you can also ask for medical help; runners who drop out are taken to the finish by shuttle. There are bins every kilometre, as dropping litter along the course is forbidden. The official track can be viewed on Google Maps and Garmin Connect from the course page.
