The race

The CWC Collagna (Collagna-Vallisnera-Valbona-Collagna) is the race that closes the Casarola Team season in the Reggio Emilia Apennines. The 5th edition takes place on Sunday 1 November 2026, starting at 10:00 in Collagna, in the municipality of Ventasso.

The course is 15 km long, entirely on tarmac, with about 500 metres of elevation gain: the organisers call it "a trail on tarmac". 2026 is a special reverse edition, with the course run the other way round compared with past editions.

If you prefer to walk, there is a 7 km non-competitive walk at 10:10. After the prize-giving comes the traditional Chestnut Festival.

Course

Start and finish are in the village of Collagna. The 15 km loop is entirely paved and has about 500 m of elevation gain, with demanding climbs on quiet roads.

In 2026 the loop is reversed: it passes through the villages of Valbona, Pratizzano and Vallisnera, with views of the Apennine ridge and a section inside the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines National Park.

There are two aid stations: one halfway and one at the finish.

7 km walk

The route for non-competitive participants is about 7 km long on paved roads, farm tracks and trails. It takes the new "Don Piergiorgio Torreggiani" trail and passes the Big Bench, with the option of being accompanied by a hiking guide.
