The race
The 34th Egyptian Luxor Marathon takes place on Friday 8 January 2027, starting at 7:00 from the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut on the west bank of the Nile. The course passes the Temple of Medinet Habu, the Temple of Amenophis III and the Colossi of Memnon.
Besides the AIMS-measured marathon (6-hour limit, minimum age 21) there are a half marathon, a 12K and a 5K. Founded in 1992, it is accredited by the Abbott World Marathon Majors for ranking points.
