The race
Chevron Houston Marathon takes place from 16 to 17 January 2027 in Houston (Texas, United States). The programme includes: marathon (Sunday 17 January, at 6:55), Aramco Houston Half Marathon (Sunday 17 January, at 6:55) and We Are Houston 5K (Saturday 16 January, at 8:00, fee 40 USD).
Start at Congress & Fannin, Downtown, finish at George R. Brown Convention Center. The marathon and half start together and share the course up to mile 7.6; the courses are USATF-certified and the 2027 edition is already sold out. Organised by Houston Marathon Committee.

Course
A single start
The marathon and half start from the same line at Congress Avenue and Fannin Street downtown, in six corrals: A and B at 6:55, then C, D, E and F at intervals. Corrals are assigned by the predicted finish time given at registration; Corral A is by request only with a verified time (by 30 November 2026).
A flat course
The course is flat and fast and the two routes stay together until mile 7.6, where the half splits off. From mile 2 there is a refuelling station every 1.5 miles with water and Gatorade Endurance, preceded by a medical point; portable toilets follow the stations.
Cutoffs
- Half: minimum pace 18:18 per mile, cutoff at mile 7.6 at 10:15.
- Marathon: minimum pace 13:45 per mile, cutoffs at mile 7.6 at 9:40 and at mile 20 at 12:20.
Off-pace marathoners before mile 7.6 are redirected onto the half course; after it, they board the support vans. The finish is by the George R. Brown Convention Center.

Rules and requirements
Who can take part
- Marathon: at least 12 years old on race day.
- Half and 5K: at least 7 years old.
- No qualifying time; a time is only needed to request Corral A.
- The 2027 marathon and half are sold out: entry is still possible through official charities.
Time limits
- Marathon: 6 hours (chip), 13:45 per mile.
- Half: 4 hours (chip), 18:18 per mile.
- 5K: within 90 minutes of the last corral start (8:30).
Fees and services
The 5K costs $40 when added to a marathon or half registration. Discounts are available for active and retired US military.
Refunds and transfers
- Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable; refund protection can be bought at registration (or within 5 days).
- Race switches are possible for a fee: $20 until 31 October 2026, $40 until 6 January 2027, plus any price difference.
Expo
Bib pickup at the expo on Friday 15 January (10:00-18:00) and Saturday 16 January (8:30-17:00).
