The race
The Lago d'Orta Night Run is the night race around Lake Orta organised by ASD Circuito Running and ASD Lago d'Orta Sports & Events. The 2027 edition takes place on Saturday 22 May.
There are two non-competitive FIDAL and ACSI distances: the 15.5 km starts from Piazzale Prarondo in Orta San Giulio, the 7 km from the Lido di Gozzano. Both start at 21:15; the 15.5 km finishes in Piazza Motta in Pella.
The race is run in the dark, with a head torch or hand torch compulsory. The meeting point is in Pella from 17:00: from there, boats take runners to the starts.
In 2026 the race returned after seven years with almost 900 runners, 600 on the 15.5 km and around 300 on the 7 km.
Course
Both races are point to point. The 15.5 km starts from Piazzale Prarondo in Orta San Giulio and finishes in Piazza Motta in Pella; the 7 km starts from the Lido di Gozzano.
You run in the evening on roads closed to traffic, starting at 21:15 with a time limit of 2 hours. A head torch or hand torch is compulsory.
Boats take you to the starts: for the 15.5 km they leave Pella from 20:00, for the 7 km there is a single trip of the Ortensia boat at 20:00.

Rules and requirements
Fees for the 15.5 km
- €20 until 18 April 2027, with t-shirt;
- €22 from 19 April to 20 May 2027, with t-shirt while stocks last;
- €25 on race day.
Fees for the 7 km
- €12 until 18 April 2027;
- €15 from 19 April to 20 May 2027;
- €20 on race day.
The t-shirt is only for the 15.5 km. Entries are online on iRunning, by card, Satispay or bank transfer; for the 15.5 km FIDAL clubs get one free entry for every 10 paid. Entries for 2027 are not open yet.
Participation
Members of FIDAL, ACSI and other sports promotion bodies are admitted. Entering counts as a declaration of fitness for non-competitive sport.

The race goes ahead in any weather. The first 5 men and 5 women of the 15.5 km and the first 3 of the 7 km receive awards.
