The race
The 49th LEIPZIG MARATHON takes place on Sunday 18 April 2027 in Leipzig. In its current form it has existed since 1977, but its roots go back to 1897, when a 40 km race modelled on the Olympics was held in the city.
The course is a paved city loop past Leipzig's best-known sights, with little height difference and AIMS measurement. Besides the marathon there are a half marathon, 10K and 4K, school and children's races and an inline-skating race.
