The race

The ASICS Marathon de Paris celebrates its 50th edition on Sunday 4 April 2027, the first organised by Cadence Running United and with ASICS as the new title partner. The race starts on the Champs-Élysées and finishes on avenue Foch, its traditional finish line; the 2027 course is being kept secret and will be revealed a few weeks before race day.

The first modern edition was run on 18 September 1976 in the bois de Boulogne with 126 starters, and in 1979 the marathon moved onto the city's boulevards. The route passes landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, Notre-Dame and the Eiffel Tower, runs along the Seine quays and over stretches of cobblestones, with spectators cheering even from their balconies.

The course records belong to Kenenisa Bekele (2:05:04 in 2014) and Purity Gitonga (2:20:55 in 2025). For 2027 bibs are allocated by ballot for the first time: more than 160,000 people from 165 countries entered, and a bib costs €169.

Course

The 2027 course is still a secret: the organisers will reveal it a few weeks before the race, with an interactive map showing the start, finish, aid stations, entertainment and landmarks along the way. The two ends are already known: the start on the Champs-Élysées and the finish on avenue Foch, the widest avenue in Paris and the marathon's traditional finish.

The distance is the official 42.195 km. The website highlights the race's signature features: stretches of sandstone cobbles, the great monuments (Arc de Triomphe, Louvre, Notre-Dame, Eiffel Tower), the kilometres along the Seine quays and the crowds cheering, even from their balconies. New features are promised on the course for the 50th edition.

Rules and requirements

Minimum age19 years
Bib transferIl pettorale è personale e nominativo e non si cede privatamente; dal 1° dicembre 2026 apre la piattaforma ufficiale di rivendita, dove chi non può correre può cedere il pettorale e chi non ce l'ha può acquistarlo.

Runners must be born on or before 31 December 2007. For 2027 bibs are allocated by a free ballot (entries 8-30 September 2026, also in teams of 2 to 6 who share the same result); from 1 October successful applicants receive an email and have 72 hours to register and pay, otherwise the place goes to another runner. Unsuccessful applicants stay in the running for any further draws.

The Grand Public fee is €169, the same for everyone; there is a specific rate for 2026-2027 FFA licence holders and a €50 Dossard Passerelle for those who meet the eligibility criteria. Without the ballot you can run with a Dossard Engagé (€85 fee plus at least €420 in donations for a charity), through corporate packages or with partner tour operators.

The right to register and the bib are personal and cannot be transferred; the official resale platform opens on 1 December. Medical certificate or PPS, cancellation and refund terms, bib collection and start times will be announced by the organisers before the race.
