The race

The Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes is a point-to-point marathon along the French Riviera: it starts on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice and finishes on the Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes, near the Palais des Festivals. The organisers present it as the largest marathon in France after Paris.

The 18th edition takes place on Sunday 8 November 2026, with the first start at 8:00 and waves until 9:15. In 2025 almost 22,000 runners started, about 30% from abroad, and for nearly half of them it was their first marathon. For 2026 there are 22,000 places, 15,000 of them on the marathon, and every race is sold out.

Besides the individual marathon there are:

  • 2x21.1 km: the marathon for pairs, with the changeover in Antibes Juan-les-Pins;
  • Marathon Relais: a relay for teams of 3 to 6 runners with five changeover points;
  • 20 km from Nice to Villeneuve-Loubet, on the first half of the course.

The race holds the AIMS label and the French federation's international label, is on the World Athletics calendar and awards points for the Abbott World Marathon Majors age group ranking. The bib is also a train ticket between Nice and Cannes for the whole day. From 2026 the aid stations are cup-free: every runner brings a reusable container.

The 20 km finishes at the Parking des Maurettes in Villeneuve-Loubet, opposite the Marina Baie des Anges. The 2x21.1 km changeover is in Antibes, on the route du Bord de Mer after the Fontonne stadium; the relay changeover points are in Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Villeneuve-Loubet, Antibes Juan-les-Pins and Vallauris Golfe-Juan.
