The race
The Haspa Marathon Hamburg is Germany's biggest and fastest spring marathon, and the most traditional sporting event in the city on the Elbe. The 41st edition takes place on Sunday 25 April 2027 and is already completely sold out: the 20,000 marathon places, the 10,000 half marathon places (gone in ten days) and the 1,500 four-person relay teams (gone in three hours).
The course, marked with a blue line (#runtheblueline), is a real sightseeing tour of Hamburg: it starts on Karolinenstraße next to the trade fair, runs along the Reeperbahn and the Elbchaussee, then past the fish market, the Landungsbrücken, the Elbphilharmonie and the Speicherstadt, through the centre to the Alster and the Stadtpark, before heading back towards Planten un Blomen and the finish on the same Karolinenstraße. It is almost flat and fast: the course record is 2:03:46.
The half marathon starts at 2 pm from Alsterglacis, the marathon at 8:30 am. Bib pick-up and the Expo are at the trade fair (Hall A3) on Friday and Saturday. The organiser is Marathon Hamburg Veranstaltungs GmbH; entries are on the mika:timing platform, currently with coupon codes only.

Course
The start is on Karolinenstraße, next to the Hamburg trade fair. The first kilometres pass along the Reeperbahn and the Dancing Towers, then the Elbchaussee offers glimpses of the harbour. The route runs past the fish market and the St. Pauli Landungsbrücken, with the Elbphilharmonie, HafenCity and the brick warehouses of the Speicherstadt in view.
After the Wallring tunnel it crosses the centre via Ballindamm, Jungfernstieg and Neuer Jungfernstieg; from the Kennedybrücke there is a view over the Binnenalster. It follows the eastern shore of the Außenalster (Schwanenwik, Schöne Aussicht, Fährhausstraße), heads up towards the Stadtpark and City Nord to its northernmost point in Ohlsdorf.
On Maienweg 12 kilometres remain, all towards the finish: Alsterkrugchaussee, Rathenaustraße, Bebelallee, Eppendorfer Landstraße and Eppendorfer Baum, then the western bank of the Alster on Harvestehuder Weg. Back in the centre via Dammtor and Gorch-Fock-Wall, along Planten un Blomen, to the home straight on Karolinenstraße. The course is AIMS-measured and almost flat.
