The race

The Marathon International de Marrakech is held under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI and reaches its 37th edition: on Sunday 31 January 2027 the marathon starts at 7:45 and the half at 9:15, both from Avenue de la Menara, behind the Sofitel hotel and close to La Mamounia, where the finish is too.

The course is considered one of the fastest in the world: it is flat, with just a few gentle rises in the palm grove, and the distances are AIMS-measured. It runs along the city ramparts, through the Menara gardens and among palm, orange and olive trees, in January's mild weather.

New for 2027 is the Course pour Tous, a 5 km run open to all on Saturday 30 January at 9:00, starting in front of the Koutoubia, near Jemaa el-Fna square.
