The race
The Maratonina Internazionale Città di Udine reaches its 27th edition on Sunday 19 September 2027. It is a road half marathon that brings international-level athletes to the city alongside amateurs and casual runners; the organisers, the Associazione Maratonina Udinese founded in 2002, describe it as one of the fastest courses around.
In 2026 the race started on Viale della Vittoria and finished in Piazza della Libertà, beneath the Loggia del Lionello, after 21.097 km through Udine and Tavagnacco. Around the race there is a family programme: the Salita del Castello (400 metres with 30 metres of climbing), the MiniRun for children, a 1,000-metre run with your dog and the StraUdine, 9 km for everyone through the city's finest streets.
Fees, times and rules for 2027 have not been published yet: in 2026 entry cost between 20 and 60 euros depending on the date, and was free for runners over 70 and wheelchair athletes.
Course
In 2026 the start was on Viale della Vittoria and the finish in Piazza della Libertà, in front of the Loggia del Lionello in the heart of Udine. The 21.097 km passed Piazza Primo Maggio at the foot of the Castle hill, Piazzale Oberdan, Viale Volontari della Libertà and Viale Tricesimo, then entered the municipality of Tavagnacco (Via Padova, Piazza Indipendenza, Via Mazzini, Colugna) and returned to Udine past the stadium, through Piazzale Cella, Viale XXIII Marzo and Piazza Patriarcato before the finish.
Roads are closed to traffic during the race. The 2026 course is published on a Google map with every kilometre marked; the 2027 course has not been presented yet.

The 2027 rules have not been published yet. In 2026 the half marathon was open to FIDAL members, Runcard holders with a competitive medical certificate for athletics, members of federations affiliated to World Athletics and, for non-affiliated foreigners living abroad only, as a sports-tourism entry (different bib, no ranking or prizes, 8 euros extra for insurance).
Entries were taken online on ENDU; 2026 fees were 20 euros until 30 April, 26 until 31 August, 40 until 12 September and 60 the day before the race, free for over-70s and wheelchair athletes, with discounts for clubs entering at least 5 runners. The fee includes bib, timing chip, insurance and medical assistance, refreshments on the course and at the finish, bag drop in Piazza Duomo, a finisher medal and any gadgets.
The time limit is 2 hours 45 minutes. Fees are not refunded; in 2026 entries could be transferred to another runner or moved to the following year for a 10-euro admin fee.
