The race
The ABP Newport Marathon Festival takes place on Sunday 18 April 2027 in Newport, Wales, with a marathon, half marathon, 10K and mile races, organised by Run 4 Wales (the team behind the Cardiff Half Marathon); the first Newport Wales Marathon was held in 2018.
Designed by double Olympic marathoner Steve Brace, the route is one of the flattest in Europe: it starts and finishes on the Usk Way riverfront and passes the Transporter Bridge, the historic centre and the Gwent Levels. The marathon and half start at 9am, the 10K at 9:45am.
