The race

The Pella Orta is a 14.5 km road race linking the two shores of Lake Orta, from Pella to Orta San Giulio. The 2026 edition takes place on Sunday 29 November.

It is a non-competitive FIDAL and ACSI event, organised by ASD Circuito Running and ASD Lago d'Orta Sports & Events with the municipalities of Pella, San Maurizio d'Opaglio, Gozzano and Orta San Giulio.

The start is at 10:00 from Piazza Motta in Pella, on roads closed to traffic. After the finish in Orta, runners return to Pella by boat, where an aperitif with pizza and beer awaits.

Course

The course is 14.5 km long and runs point to point around the southern end of the lake. It starts from Piazza Motta in Pella, follows the western shore towards San Maurizio d'Opaglio and Gozzano, then heads up the eastern shore to the finish in Orta San Giulio.

The official map shows an almost flat profile, with a sharper climb halfway and a short rise towards the end. The time limit is 2 hours.

The return to Pella is by boat, by 14:00; bags are carried from Pella to Orta and kept at the oratory bag drop.
