The race
The Generali Prague Half Marathon is the biggest running event in the Czech Republic and one of the most prestigious half marathons in the world: it holds a World Athletics Elite Label, is part of the SuperHalfs series and world records have fallen on its flat, fast course. Its motto is "All runners are beautiful", and the start line brings together the world's best athletes and thousands of amateurs, around 17,000 runners in all.
The course records are 58:16 by Rodrigue Kwizera and 1:04:52 by Joyciline Jepkosgei. The 27th edition takes place on Saturday 3 April 2027 at 10:00 and is already sold out: bibs are only available with a code, from the summer 2026 ballot, a partner travel agency or a charity. The route runs through the historic centre, with bridges over the Vltava and views of Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, the National Theatre, Vyšehrad and the Rudolfinum, and there is live music along the course.

Course
Start and finish are at the same spot in Holešovice on the Vltava, near Vltavská station (2026 map; the 2027 map is not out yet). According to the official map, the route follows the embankment below Letná gardens, passes the Old Town and runs down the riverbank past Palacký Bridge towards Podolí before turning back along the other bank.
The return leg crosses the centre, then Karlín along Rohanské nábřeží, and follows the river back to the finish. The flat, fast loop offers views of Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, the National Theatre, Vyšehrad and the Rudolfinum. Along the way there are refreshment stations, water points, first aid and music points. The time limit is 3 hours from the gun, a reference pace of 7:55 per km.

Rules and requirements
The race is sold out: you can only run with a registration code from the ballot (applications 21 July - 11 August 2026, draw by 21 August and 7 days to pay), a partner travel agency or a charity, which will sell the last places in the autumn. The basic fee is €78 plus a €2 service fee; the adidas T-shirt, medal engraving, photos and insurance are extras.
Minimum age 18 on race day; minors admitted to other RunCzech races need parental consent. Time limit 3 hours from the gun: runners slower than an average of 7:55 per km may be stopped and can only continue on the pavement. The race goes ahead in any weather; in extreme conditions the organisers may delay or cancel the start without refunding entry fees.
Fees are non-refundable and cannot be moved to another race, but the bib can be passed to another runner through the official paid transfer; cancellation insurance can be bought at registration. Bib and chip are personal: running with someone else's leads to disqualification. Every participant must have valid health insurance.
