The race
The Vodafone Prague Marathon is the marathon of the Czech capital, organised by RunCzech and part of the world running calendar since 1995, when the first edition drew 985 marathoners; today it holds a World Athletics Elite Label on a certified course closed to traffic. The 32nd edition takes place on Sunday 2 May 2027, starting at 8:00 from Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí), where it also finishes, and it is the only race in the Czech Republic that crosses Charles Bridge.
The route runs through the historic centre and along the Vltava, with views of Prague Castle, the Rudolfinum, Wenceslas Square, the National Theatre, the Dancing House and Vyšehrad, and the time limit is 7 hours. The same morning features the ČT 2Run, a relay in which two runners split the two halves, plus a pair format in which both partners run the full marathon; on Saturday 1 May the non-competitive dm family mile takes place at the Výstaviště Holešovice exhibition grounds.
Registration is open: the fee rises in tiers according to the number of entrants and currently stands at €120. The course records are 2:05:09 for men and 2:19:46 for women.

Course
Description of the 2026 course (the 2027 map will be published later). The race starts in Old Town Square, ringed by Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque buildings, and soon turns into elegant Pařížská Street towards the Vltava. In the opening kilometres runners pass the Chamber of Deputies and Wallenstein Palace, seat of the Senate, beneath Prague Castle.
One of the highlights is crossing Charles Bridge between its Baroque statues; on the other bank stands the Rudolfinum, home of the Czech Philharmonic. The course then heads to Karlín, the fast-changing modern district, returns to the centre through Old Town Square again and follows Celetná Street to the Powder Tower. Next come Wenceslas Square, the National Theatre and the Dancing House; around halfway runners pass the Nusle Bridge and Vyšehrad on the quieter riverside stretch.
In the final part the route comes back along the Vltava over the Most Legií, passes the National Theatre and the Rudolfinum again, returns to Karlín and ends where it began, in Old Town Square. The organisers describe it as a relatively flat, fast course, fully closed to traffic, with aid stations along the way and a music festival with live performances.

Rules and requirements
The marathon and the ČT 2Run are open to runners aged at least 18 on race day; the non-competitive dm family mile is open to all (under-15s only with an adult). No medical certificate is required: everyone takes part at their own risk and is responsible for their own fitness. The race follows World Athletics, AIMS and Czech Athletics Federation (ČAS) rules.
The marathon fee depends on the number of entrants: €70 for the first 1,500, €95 up to 4,000 and now €120, plus a service fee of up to €3 based on the order total; the 2Run costs €120 to €200 per team. The time limit is 7 hours from the gun (9:45 min/km): slower runners may be taken off the course and continue on the pavement.
Bibs and packs are collected only at the Expo with an ID showing the same details as the registration (in 2026 the Expo was at Výstaviště Holešovice, Křižík Pavilions). The fee is final and is neither refunded nor moved to another race; cancellation insurance (€3.10) and accident insurance (€2.50) can be bought at registration. Bibs can only be transferred through the official re-registration, with a fee of CZK 100 or 125.15.
