The race
The ABP Southampton Marathon Festival takes place on Sunday 11 April 2027 and is Southampton's biggest running event: launched in 2015, it is sponsored by Associated British Ports and organised by ReesLeisure.
There are a marathon, half marathon, 10K and 5K on a city route through the docks, waterfront and streets, with the toughest section on the Itchen Bridge, which turns 50 in 2027, and a passage by St Mary's Stadium. From 2027 it becomes a two-day weekend, with the Family Mile and Schools Challenge on Saturday 10 April.
