The race
The 8th Trail del Ciapà takes place on Sunday 6 December 2026 in Cervo, on the Gulf of Diano, on trails and dirt roads of the municipality and the hinterland of San Bartolomeo al Mare and Villa Faraldi. Start and finish are at the Val Steria sports ground.
The route explores the Parco Comunale del Ciapà, passing the "Salto nel blu" viewpoint, the medieval village of Cervo and finally the beach. Distances: 30 km with 1,200 m D+ (start at 9:30), 21 km with 800 m D+ (at 9:45) and a non-competitive 9 km with 300 m D+ (at 10:00).
The programme also includes the competitive 9 km Dog Trail, the Trofeo Giovanissimi, the Kids Run, the 9 and 5 km Adaptive Trail and a walk of about 5 km. All finishers receive a medal.
Short 9 km
From the sports ground a stretch of tarmac and then mule tracks and trails climb to the village of Costa di Villa; a dirt road through the pine forest leads to Colle di Cervo, where the descent into the Ciapà park begins, next to the "Salto nel blu". The route drops to Cervo and the sea, crosses the beach and returns along the river to the finish.
Medium 21 km
From Colle di Cervo the route traverses to the village of Chiappa (aid station), then on dirt road and mule track to the ridge between the Gulf of Diano and the Andora plain and the Conna junction (aid station). The return follows the panoramic ridge along the Monte Chiappa trenches and Colle Mea before the descent into the Ciapà park.
Long 30 km
As the 21 km up to the Conna junction, then the ridge towards the mountains leads to Villa Faraldi, Tovetto and Tovo Faraldi (aid station); through a downy oak wood it returns to the ridge, Monte Chiappa and Colle Mea, then descends to Cervo and the sea.
