The race
The Trofeo Sanmartinese is a 15 km road race in Campi Bisenzio, organised by Atletica Campi Bisenzio under UISP with the patronage of the municipality. Every year it commemorates the Martyrs of Valibona, the young partisans led by local man Lanciotto Ballerini who fell in January 1944, and it also counts as the Trofeo Martiri di Valibona.
The start and finish are at the Emil Zátopek athletics stadium on Via di Gramignano. The course is completely flat, along the roads and countryside around the town and across the Bisenzio river; alongside the competitive race there is a 5 km non-competitive walk.
In 2026 the 44th edition was held on 18 January with about 500 participants, a 9:00 start and changing rooms with showers at the stadium. The date and rules for the 2027 edition have not yet been published.
