The race
The GVG-Winterstaffel in Pulheim, near Cologne, is one of the largest relay events in the Rhineland: the 28th edition is on Sunday 31 January 2027, based at the Geschwister-Scholl-Gymnasium.
It is run on a 5 km loop with start, finish and changeover zone in the same place. The marathon relay has six legs, but you can also run solo: marathon (10:23, 5-hour limit, from 45 euros), half marathon, 10K and 5K.
