The race

AIM Trail is a trail running event in the hills around Vicenza, starting and finishing in Malo (VI). The 10th edition takes place on Sunday 21 February 2027 and is organised by AIM Gruppo Sportivo Dilettantistico with the patronage of the municipalities of Malo, Monte di Malo and Isola Vicentina.

There are three competitive races, all in semi-self-sufficiency:

  • Extreme: 58 km and 2,600 m D+, start at 7:00
  • Classic: 39 km and 1,700 m D+, start at 8:00
  • Wild: 21 km and 900 m D+, start at 9:30

The routes cross woods, trails and viewpoints of the Vicenza area, with some passages through private land open only on race day. At the finish there is a pasta party and every finisher gets a medal.

Course

All races start and finish at the Centro Giovanile di Malo, Via Molinetto 16. The courses run over hilly and mountainous terrain, with natural trails, technical sections and stretches that can become demanding in the mud.

The Extreme has 5 aid stations and a cut-off at Monte di Malo at 14:30; the Classic has 3 and the Wild 2, plus a final refreshment point for everyone. Kilometres are not marked: runners follow the organisers' signs, arrows and tape.

Because some sections cross private land, the GPX files are published only in the days before the race. In bad weather the organisers may switch to alternative routes.
