The race
The Montefortiana turns 50: on 16 and 17 January 2027 Monteforte d'Alpone, in the Val d'Alpone among the Soave hills, hosts a weekend of running and walking organised by ASD Valdalpone. On Saturday 16 the competitive trails start from Via Perazzolo: the 14th EcoMaratona Clivus, extended this year to 50 km with about 2,100-2,200 m of climbing and a round of the IUTA Ultratrail Grand Prix, the 10th EcoRun Collis over 26 km and 900 m D+, and the new Eco Short Pregis over 13 km and 400 m D+.
On Sunday 17 come the 31st Maratonina Falconeri, a fast but technical 21 km under the CSI with the Sante Ferroli Trophy for the Alpini, and the Marcia Montefortiana Trofeo Sant'Antonio Abate, a non-competitive walk on four routes of 6, 9, 14 and 20 km that draws more than ten thousand people. The walk's food stops are famous for polenta and sausage, minestrone, hot china liqueur and tortellini at the finish.
Race fees range from €20 to €55 in tiers and include an embroidered gilet for the 50th, local wine and sponsors' products.
Course
All races start from Via Perazzolo in Monteforte d'Alpone. The EcoMaratona Clivus (50 km) runs on trails, dirt roads and short paved stretches over hilly and mountainous terrain marked with tape and yellow arrows; the rules list aid stations at km 7, 13, 17, 21, 27, 33, 38, 41 and 43 and cut-offs at km 21 after 4 hours 15 minutes and at km 38 after 7 hours.
The EcoRun Collis (26 km, 900 m D+) crosses vineyards, woods and hills of the Val d'Alpone with aid stations at km 7, 13, 17 and 20; the Eco Short Pregis (13 km, 400 m D+) has aid stations at km 7 and 13. The Maratonina Falconeri covers 21 km with about 300 m of climbing and finishes on Via Dante. The walk offers a flat 6 km, a gently hilly 9 km, a hilly 14 km and a scenic hilly 20 km, marked and staffed from 7:30 to 14:00. GPX tracks for the Maratonina and EcoRun are on the website.
