The race
The Fukuoka Marathon takes place on Sunday 8 November 2026 and links two cities: it starts in Tenjin, central Fukuoka, and finishes in Itoshima at Koryu Plaza Shima-kan, on a course between city and sea certified by the Japanese federation.
The marathon has 13,000 places and a 7-hour time limit; it is open to people born on or before 1 April 2008, excluding high school students. Overseas runners entering via the English site have 500 reserved places at JPY 30,000. There is also a non-competitive 5.2km fun run.
