The race
The Generali Genève Marathon reaches its 21st edition on the weekend of 8-9 May 2027, with eight races for all ages. It has held the World Athletics Road Race Label since 2016, the first marathon in Switzerland to do so, is a European Athletics "5-star" event and in 2027 also hosts the Swiss Marathon Championships.
On Sunday 9 May the marathon starts at 9:00 from Chemin Frank-Thomas in Cologny, together with the Marathon Relais by Core Lean (teams of 4 to 6); the half marathon and the wheelchair half start at 7:30. The course first crosses the Geneva countryside, then runs along the lake past the Jet d'Eau to the finish on the Pont du Mont-Blanc: according to the organisers, more than half of the runners set a personal best here.
On Saturday 8 May the evening programme has the 10K and the 10K walking and Nordic walking (at 19:00) and the 5K by Always (at 18:00), finishing on Quai Gustave-Ador, plus junior races for children. 2027 entries are open with prices rising in tiers; bibs are collected on 7 and 8 May at the event village in the Jardin Anglais.
Videos
The marathon, relay, half and 10K start on Chemin Frank-Thomas in Cologny, next to the Frank-Thomas exit of Genève-Eaux-Vives station. The courses are measured to Swiss Athletics and World Athletics standards.
Marathon and relay
A single 42.195 km loop: the first part runs through the Geneva countryside, the second follows the lake with views of the Jet d'Eau and the Alps, ending with a sprint on the Pont du Mont-Blanc. The course is fast and, according to the organisers, more than half of the runners set a personal best.
- Cut-offs: km 22 at 3:10 and km 32 at 4:35
- The relay is split into six legs of 4.5 to 12 km
Half marathon
The half crosses the countryside and then follows the lake past the Jet d'Eau to the finish on the Pont du Mont-Blanc; the wheelchair half uses the same course.
Saturday races
The 10K (running, walking and Nordic walking) goes through the countryside and then along the lake, while the 5K runs by the lakeside: both finish on Quai Gustave-Ador.
