The race
The Kongsvinger skogsmaraton takes place on Saturday 7 August 2027 in the forests north and west of Kongsvinger, starting from Sæter gård farm. It is organised by Innlandet Bedriftsidrettskrets, which bills it as Innlandet's most beautiful forest adventure.
Distances are 42.2 km, 21.1 km, 10 km, 4.2 km and a 422 m run. The course is hilly and varied: the main 21.1 km loop largely follows forest roads and the marathon covers it twice, with 9 drink stations per lap; with the August heat, carrying water is recommended.
