The race
The Lago Maggiore Half Marathon, organised by Sport PRO-MOTION, holds its 19th edition on Sunday 7 March 2027 on a point-to-point course from Stresa to Verbania Pallanza, along the shore road of Lake Maggiore facing the Borromean Gulf. The half marathon starts at 10:00 from the Stresa lakefront; at 11:00 the 10 km sets off from Fondotoce, in front of the Isolino campsite entrance, and also finishes in Pallanza.
The courses are WA/AIMS/FIDAL certified, fully asphalt and closed to traffic: in 2018 a 59:06 was run here, the second-fastest half marathon ever run in Italy. There are 2,400 places for the 21 km and 600 for the 10 km, with fees rising by number of entries, from €45 to €65 for the half and from €30 to €50 for the 10 km.
Both distances also have a non-competitive version. The village with bib collection is at the Palazzo dei Congressi in Stresa on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 March. On race day dedicated boats link Pallanza and Stresa, and pay car parks in both towns are free for entrants.
