The race

The 20th Maratonina della Città Murata «Davide Baggio and Enrico Busatto», with the 4th Dino Sgambaro Memorial, takes place on Sunday 20 December 2026 in Cittadella, in the province of Padua, starting at 10:00 from Via Marconi. Organised by A.S.D. Maratoneti Cittadellesi, it is a national FIDAL Bronze-label half marathon on a certified, traffic-free course through the town centre, inside the famous medieval walls, and the surrounding countryside.

Entries, capped at 3,000 runners, are already sold out: the fee rose from 35 to 45 euros as numbers grew. The race pack includes a technical gadget, every finisher gets a medal and a finish refreshment, and the total prize purse is 5,330 euros, with 1,200 euros for the winners. The expo and bib collection are in the Villa Rina car park outside Porta Treviso.

Course

Start in Via Marconi and finish in the centre of Cittadella, where the award ceremonies are also held. The FIDAL class A certified, traffic-free course winds through the town centre, around and inside the walls, and through the outskirts and countryside, with every junction marshalled. It is flat and on asphalt.

Aid stations follow FIDAL rules, with collection points for bottles and gels; a sweep service follows the race. The map published on the official website is from the 2022 edition and has not been updated for 2026.
