The race
The Maratonina Città di Uta, founded in 1995 and organised by ASD Polisportiva Uta 2000, reaches its 28th edition on Sunday 22 November 2026 and is the longest-running half marathon in Sardinia. The start is at 10:00 on Via Stazione, in front of the S'Olivariu public park and the Town Hall, about twenty kilometres from Cagliari.
The flat 10.55 km loop with few bends is considered one of the fastest on the island: the half marathon runs it twice, the competitive 10.5 km once. The route passes the old town, the church of Santa Giusta, the countryside with vegetable fields and greenhouses and the 12th-century Romanesque church of Santa Maria. Fees are €25-30 for the half and €20-25 for the 10.5 km; there is also a non-competitive Family Run open to all.
The course records, 1:03:07 and 1:13:54, are also regional records; after the finish there is a buffet for everyone in S'Olivariu park.

Course
A 10,549-metre loop, all on asphalt except for a few dozen metres, flat and closed to traffic, run twice for the half and once for the 10.5 km. From the start on Via Stazione a long straight crosses the old town to the church of Santa Giusta; after circling the church the route leaves the village through fields of vegetables and greenhouses and reaches the Romanesque church of Santa Maria, skirting its park.
It returns to the village under the large water tower, along Via Regina Margherita, Via Argiolas Mannas past the sports centre, Via Pisa, Via Genova and Via Torino to Piazza S'Olivariu, then Via Fresia and back on Via Stazione to the timing point and finish. The loop has four drink stations with water, electrolytes and sponges; split timing at 10.5 km.
