The race
The Mezza Maratona Internazionale Città di Caserta «Reggia-Reggia», organised by ASD Reggia Running, reaches its 11th edition on Sunday 22 November 2026. The start is at 8:30 from Corso Trieste on a 21.0975 km loop measured and certified by FIDAL. What makes the race unique is the stretch inside the Royal Park of the Reggia di Caserta, Vanvitelli's UNESCO World Heritage garden, run along the fountains up to the English Garden.
Fees range from €24 to €30, with a cap of 2,000 entries and a personalised bib for those who enter by 9 November. There are pacers, bag storage, Evodata chip timing, an online certificate and a medal for all finishers. Prize money reaches €400 for the overall winners, with prizes for the best Italians and the top five clubs too.
Course
Start on Corso Trieste in central Caserta. According to the published map (2024 edition) the course heads south to San Benedetto, Acquaviva and San Nicola la Strada, comes back up the east side of the city towards Puccianiello and then enters the Royal Park of the Reggia: it climbs to the English Garden and returns along the fountain avenue, finishing near the palace.
Inside the park some stretches are paved with rubble left over from the palace masonry. Asphalt surface, with about 211 m of elevation gain on the 2024 track. Drink stations at km 5, 9, 13 and 19 and at the finish; throwing bottles or gels is forbidden along the 5 km inside the park.
