The race

The Midzomer Marathon in Apeldoorn is an evening race through the Veluwe woods: the next edition is on Saturday 17 July 2027.

The five distances – marathon, 28.2 km, half marathon, 14 km and the 7.5 km Orderbos loop – start between 17:00 and 18:30, avoiding the hottest part of the day. The course runs almost entirely in the shade of the trees, on wide Veluwe paths, and the sun sets around 22:00. On the marathon and 28 km a supporter may cycle alongside.
