The race
The Nagoya Women's Marathon is a women-only marathon with a World Athletics Platinum Label, the highest distinction for road races, which it has held since 2019. The first edition in 2012 had 13,114 runners and was recognised by Guinness World Records as the world's largest women's marathon; the current record stands at 21,915 finishers (2018).
The 2027 edition takes place on Sunday 14 March, starting at 9:10. The start and finish are inside Vantelin Dome Nagoya, a covered baseball stadium, and the 7-hour time limit makes it suitable for first-timers too: in 2026, 96.6% of starters finished.
Every finisher receives a Baccarat crystal tumbler and the New Balance finisher T-shirt. Over the three days before the race, the Marathon EXPO in the Dome draws around 100,000 visitors, with the GO RUNWAY fashion show on the finishing straight.
