The race
The Piccolo Trail delle Bregonze is an autumn trail race on the Bregonze hills in the Alto Vicentino, between the municipalities of Carrè, Chiuppano and Calvene. The 8th edition takes place on Sunday 15 November 2026, with the meeting point at 7:30 in the primary school gym in Carrè, Via Compans 9.
There are two distances: the 25 km Extreme with 1,100 m D+, starting at 8:45, and the 15 km Challenge with 500 m D+, starting at 9:30. The loop course mixes roads and trails with constant ups and downs between the wilder north side and the south side, with fields and rural settlements.
Since 2023 the race has been part of the UTMB Index Races calendar (20K category) and since 2024 of the ITRA National League. It is organised by Runners Team Zanè with the patronage of the Municipality of Carrè.

Course
The course is a loop criss-crossing the Bregonze hills on roads and trails, with wide views and demanding climbs.
- Extreme: 25 km and 1,100 m D+;
- Challenge: 15 km and 500 m D+.
Aid stations with water and salts roughly every 6-7 km on both courses. The 2026 routes are still being finalised.

Rules and requirements
Who can take part
- runners aged at least 18 on race day;
- a competitive medical certificate for athletics is compulsory; foreign runners use the organisers' form, in Italian or English.
Entries
- online on the Runners Team Zanè website or at the KM42 shops in Zanè and Vicenza;
- entries close at 19:00 on Saturday 14 November 2026 or when 300 entrants for the Extreme and 200 for the Challenge are reached;
- 2026 fees have not been published yet.
Sunday programme
- 7:30 meeting point, bib collection and entries (until 8:30, if places remain);
- 8:45 Extreme start, 9:30 Challenge start;
- around 12:30 prize-giving.
Times and services
- time limit: 4 hours 30 minutes (Extreme) and 3 hours (Challenge);
- Evodata chip timing, chip to be returned at the finish;
- bag drop, changing rooms, hot showers and toilets in the gym;
- medical assistance by SOGIT Alto Vicentino.
Fees are not refundable, but by 8 November the entry can be moved to 2027 or transferred to another person for a €5 admin fee.
