The race
The Sanremo Marathon, the international marathon of Sanremo and the Riviera dei Fiori, reaches its 10th edition on Sunday 6 December 2026. It is run almost entirely on the cycle and pedestrian path of the Riviera dei Fiori coastal park, built on the old railway line above the sea: a straight, almost flat course where the only real difficulty can be the wind.
Start and finish are at the Pian di Poma athletics ground, at 9:00 for the marathon and half and 8:50 for the non-competitive 10 km. The course takes in Ospedaletti, the old harbour and Fort Santa Tecla in Sanremo, Arma di Taggia, Riva Ligure and Santo Stefano al Mare. On Saturday Ospedaletti hosts the Ospedaletti Run 5K and the Family Run, and that is also where bibs are collected.
Fees rise month by month, from €45 to €75 for the marathon and from €30 to €50 for the half, with club discounts. The 6-hour time limit makes it suitable for a first marathon too.

Course
Start inside the Pian di Poma athletics track in Sanremo. The course joins the cycle path westwards to a turnaround on the Ospedaletti seafront, returns towards Sanremo, leaves the path at Corso Mombello and passes Fort Santa Tecla and the Old Harbour, along Corso Trento e Trieste and Lungomare Nazario Sauro. Back on the cycle path at Via Nobel, it heads east past Bussana to Arma di Taggia; in Riva Ligure a short town section passes under the arch of the town hall, then the seafront promenade leads to Santo Stefano al Mare along the Colombo, Gerolamo da Santo Stefano and d'Albertis promenades.
The turnaround is inside the San Lorenzo tunnel, and the return is entirely on the cycle path to the finish on the athletics track. The half marathon uses the same line over a shorter distance. Asphalt, almost no elevation change, the sea always alongside; aid stations on the course and at the finish.
