The race
The Sardon Run is S1 Trail's summer trail race on the Trieste Karst, between the sea and Slovenia: the next edition is on Saturday 21 August 2027, starting and finishing on the Isola del Villaggio del Pescatore (Duino Aurisina), where the finish line is the sea.
In 2026 there were five distances:
- Sardonzin, 7 km and 99 m D+, a walk or run for the whole family, dogs welcome
- Sardon Trail, 17 km and 396 m D+
- Sardon Half Marathon, 22 km and 585 m D+
- Sardon Ultra, 48.4 km and 1,167 m D+
- Sardon Stage Ultra, 71 km and 1,989 m D+ in two stages on the same day (49 + 22 km)
The courses take in the Rilke Path, the trenches of Monte Ermada, CAI trail 79 along the border and the mouth of the Timavo. For 2027 the organisers announce a renewed Sardonzin and course changes; entries open on 1 December 2026.
