The race
The Sea-Ice Marathon Classic takes place on Sunday 28 February 2027 in Luleå, entirely on the natural sea ice at the edge of the Gulf of Bothnia. It is a collaboration between Explore Luleå and Schaatsen Luleå and runs alongside the skating races of the Grand Prix programme.
The distances are 42 km (10:00), 21 km, 10 km and 5 km (11:00), over several laps of a loop marked out on the ice off the southern harbour. Online registration closes on 26 February 2027 at 18:00; late entries are also possible at bib pick-up or on race morning.
