The race
Statte in corsa is a road race of about 9.5 km organised by ASD Taranto Sportiva in Statte, in the province of Taranto, now in its third edition and part of the Gran Prix di corsa sulle strade dello Jonio. On Sunday 1 November runners gather from 8:00 at Piazzale Stazione, which also hosts the finish and prize-giving, and the race starts at 9:00.
The course is a single loop on town and country roads with the climbs and descents typical of the area, an aid station at about 4.5 km and pacemakers with balloons. The time limit is one hour twenty minutes; the fee is 7 euros, or 10 with the race pack, and entries are on Icron until 29 October.
