The race
The adidas Stockholm Half Marathon is the half marathon that crosses central Stockholm at the end of summer. The 26th edition takes place on Saturday 21 August 2027, with the first start scheduled for 15:30.
The race starts on Strömbron and finishes on Norrbro, in the area between the Royal Palace, the Riksdag and the Opera: in between are 21,098 metres through Norrmalm, Vasastan, Kungsholmen, Gamla Stan and Södermalm, passing Karlberg Palace and the City Hall. It is a fast-flowing course, suited both to runners chasing a time and to those trying the distance.
The race is organised by the athletics clubs Hässelby SK and Spårvägens FK (Marathongruppen), and any surplus goes back into sport. In 2026 it held a World Athletics Road Race Label and AIMS measurement, with wave starts from 15:30 to 16:15.
The weekend centres on the Expo in Kungsträdgården, where the Race Kit is collected, and the After Run in the same park, open to runners only. Entries for 2027 are open: 1,045 SEK until 14 February 2027, then 1,195 SEK.

The course measures 21,098 metres and was checked in 2024 by a Swedish federation course measurer. It starts on Strömbron and finishes on Norrbro, a few steps from the start, in front of the Royal Palace.
Key points
- Km 1-6: Kungsträdgården, Regeringsgatan, Vasagatan past the Central Station, then the long climb up Torsgatan and the descent of Inedalsgatan to Kungsholms Strand.
- Km 7-12: Hornsbergs Strand opposite Karlberg Palace, Fredhällsparken, Rålambshovsparken and Norr Mälarstrand to the City Hall, then Vasabron and Gamla Stan.
- Km 13-17: Slussen, the busiest stretch for spectators, then Södermalm with the view over Riddarfjärden from Torkel Knutssonsgatan and Söder Mälarstrand to Tantolunden.
- Km 18-21.1: the climb towards Zinkensdamm, Maria Bangata, the downhill back to Slussen and the sprint along Skeppsbron to Norrbro.
In 2026 there were seven drink stations and five energy points, with cut-offs at km 11.3 (by 17:45) and km 17 (by 18:30). The official 2026 GPX is published on the website.

Rules and requirements
Who can take part
- From 2027 you can run from the year you turn 17 (born in 2010 or earlier).
- Entry is personal and binding and means accepting Marathongruppen's general terms; the website does not ask foreign runners for a licence or medical certificate.
- Swedish Athletics and World Athletics rules apply; in 2026 prams, bikes, skates and accompanying cyclists were banned, and wheelchairs were not recommended.
2027 fees
- 895 SEK from 25 August to 6 September 2026.
- 1,045 SEK from 7 September 2026 to 14 February 2027.
- 1,195 SEK from 15 February to 21 August 2027.
Payment by online bank, card, Swish or Klarna invoice.
Times and bib collection
In 2026 there was no single time limit but two cut-offs: km 11.3 by 17:45 and km 17 by 18:30. The bib is collected at the Expo in Kungsträdgården by showing the start confirmation (or ID), at least one hour before your start.
Refunds and transfers
The fee can only be recovered with the Folksam insurance taken out at registration. The entry can be transferred to another person from the Marathongruppen account, for a fee.
