The race
The Amastuola Wave Trail is a trail race of about 16 km with 310 m of elevation gain, starting from Masseria Amastuola Wine & Resort in the countryside between Massafra and Crispiano, overlooking the Gulf of Taranto. Now in its eleventh edition, it is organised by Team Nuova Podistica Massafra, is listed in the FIDAL calendar as a national race and is the sixth stage of the Puglia Trail circuit.
It takes place on Sunday 25 October 2026, with assembly at 8:00 and the start at 9:00, as part of the Magna Graecia Running Week. The name comes from the wave-shaped vineyard designed by landscape architect Fernando Caruncho, which the course crosses.
Proceeds go to the charity Sorriso Francescano ONLUS, for a project supporting young patients of the paediatric oncology and haematology ward at Taranto Hospital.

Course
The course is entirely off-road: from the masseria it crosses a hunting reserve along the old anti-wolf wall, a Mediterranean scrub wood and a single track along the ravines, where traces of Magna Graecia settlements are found.
It ends in the vineyard with its distinctive wave layout, circling Masseria Amastuola. The estimated distance is 16 km with 310 m of elevation gain, of medium difficulty.
There are no aid stations on the course: the race is self-sufficient and the organisers recommend at least one litre of water, food supplies, a whistle, a cap and trail shoes.
