The race

The Half Marathon Firenze reaches its 43rd edition on Sunday 4 April 2027. Organised by Uisp Firenze, it takes runners through the streets and squares of Florence's UNESCO-listed historic centre: the start is at 9:00 on Lungarno della Zecca and the finish in Piazza Santa Croce, home of the race village. The course is flat and closed to traffic, partly on stone paving; in 2026 it was run over two laps through the Arno embankments, Piazza della Signoria, the Duomo and the Oltrarno, while the 2027 route is still being finalised.

The competitive half marathon takes up to 5,000 runners, alongside a 10 km non-competitive run open to 1,000 participants. Fees for the 21 km range from €27 to €35 (€21 to €28 for UISP members), plus fees; the 10 km costs €10. Online entries on ENDU opened on 1 October 2026 and close on 28 March 2027.

In 2026 the half sold out as early as February, with 6,000 participants from 82 countries across the competitive and non-competitive races.

Course

The 2027 course is still being finalised: the start on Lungarno della Zecca (near via delle Casine) and the finish in Piazza Santa Croce are confirmed. In 2026 the half marathon was run over two almost identical laps. From Lungarno Pecori Giraldi it crossed the San Niccolò bridge and followed the Oltrarno embankments to the Ponte alle Grazie, then via de' Benci, Piazza della Signoria, via Calzaiuoli and a loop around the Duomo and Baptistery, Piazza della Repubblica, via della Vigna Nuova, Borgo Ognissanti and the Prato area.

From the Ponte alla Carraia it went into San Frediano, piazza della Calza and via Romana, then via Maggio and Piazza Frescobaldi, the Ponte Santa Trinita and back along the embankments to Santa Croce. The non-competitive race followed the first lap. The surface is asphalt or stone, uneven in places.

Aid stations on Lungarno Vespucci (around km 5 and 15) and in Piazza Frescobaldi (around km 8 and 19), plus the finish refreshment area with gluten-free products.
