The race
The Mezza Maratona Giuseppe Cerone Città di San Miniato reaches its 15th edition on Tuesday 8 December 2026, starting at 9:00 from the Casa Culturale on Via Pizzigoni, in San Miniato Basso. It is a national FIDAL race on a certified course, organised by ASD Atletica La Rocca Luigi Ocone with Sport e Solidarietà San Miniato and the local running clubs.
Founded in 2011 on an idea of the town's sports council, it was moved from September to December to tie it in with San Miniato's truffle festival, and it is dedicated to Giuseppe Cerone, a runner and one of the event's founders. Alongside the half runs the 4th competitive Run 10K, flat and almost entirely paved, with about 700 metres on the Via Francigena.
Fees range from €20 to €25 for the half and from €15 to €20 for the 10K; the pack includes a technical garment and local products, and every finisher receives a medal. The prize list is generous, with €350 for the winning man and woman and prizes in kind for clubs.
