The race
The Invernalissima, «the half marathon at the foot of Assisi», celebrates its 48th edition on Sunday 13 December 2026, starting at 9:30 from the Umbriafiere exhibition centre in Bastia Umbra, where the finish is too. Organised by A.S.D. Podisti Bastia Umbra (ASPA Bastia), it is a national FIDAL half marathon on an entirely flat, traffic-free course through Bastia Umbra, Santa Maria degli Angeli with the Basilica of the Porziuncola and Rivotorto with the Sanctuary of the Sacro Tugurio, about a kilometre from the Basilica of St Francis.
There are 1,300 bibs and fees range from 28 to 38 euros, including race pack, medal, pacers from 1h30' to 2h06' and a generous indoor finish buffet in hall 8. At 9:35 the Family Run of about 5 km, open to all, sets off. It is one of Umbria's historic races, with prize money and awards for the largest clubs.

Course
Start and finish at the «Ludovico Maschiella» exhibition centre (Umbriafiere) in Bastia Umbra. The course, unchanged since 2023, is FIDAL-certified, entirely flat and closed to traffic: it crosses the old centre of Bastia Umbra, reaches Santa Maria degli Angeli past the Basilica housing the Porziuncola, continues to Rivotorto and its Sanctuary of the Sacro Tugurio and runs through the countryside at the foot of Assisi, with the Basilica of St Francis in view about a kilometre away, before returning to Umbriafiere.
Four aid stations, roughly every 4 km, with drinks and packaged food; finish refreshments in hall 8. The course is measured on the shortest line, so GPS watches usually show a few hundred metres more.
