The race

The Ravenna City of Art Marathon reaches its 27th edition on Sunday 8 November 2026: the marathon and half start at 9:15 from the Pala De André on Viale Europa and finish on Via di Roma in front of MAR, the city art museum, while at 10:15 the Martini Good Morning Ravenna 10K starts, open to walkers too. The flat, fast course («fun, fast, flat» is the motto) links the Darsena, the Mausoleum of Theodoric, the centre of the Byzantine mosaics and, for marathoners, the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare in Classe.

The race symbol is the hand-made mosaic medal by the Annafietta workshop: in 2026 it shows the Mausoleum of Theodoric, 1,500 years after the Gothic king's death. Your personalised bib gives reduced entry to the city's museums and UNESCO monuments. The Expo Marathon Village at the Pala De André is open on Friday and Saturday, with bib collection on Sunday morning for those coming from outside the province. The weekend also includes the Family Run and Dogs & Run.

Course

Marathon and half start from the Pala De André on Viale Europa, in the Darsena area, and finish on Via di Roma in front of the city art museum (MAR). According to the official 2026 track, the marathon crosses the Darsena and the industrial area towards the Mausoleum of Theodoric (around km 9), enters the old town along Via di Roma near the Rocca Brancaleone (km 12), passes San Rocco and heads south along Via Romea to Classe and the Basilica of Sant'Apollinare (around km 21), then returns towards the Darsena along the Canale Molinetto (km 27), touches the Porto Fuori area and comes back via Viale Europa to the finish on Via di Roma.

The Mausoleum of Theodoric is common to all distances. The course is entirely flat and asphalt, FIDAL certified. Aid stations every 5 km under World Athletics rules and a finish refreshment; the 10K has one at km 5. The official tracks of all three races are on maps on the website.
