The race
La Mezza di Castelnovo is the half marathon of Castelnovo di Sotto, in the Reggio Emilia plain, organised by Road Runners Club Poviglio: the 6th edition takes place on Sunday 22 November 2026 and is on the UISP Reggio Emilia running calendar as a competitive road race. The 21.0975 km course is practically flat, with only about ten metres of climbing.
Alongside the half there is the «Camminata castelnovese», a non-competitive 12 km walk with assembly at 9:30 in Piazza IV Novembre. Start time, fees and 2026 rules have not yet been published; for information you can write to the organisers (n.messori76@gmail.com).
Course
The official UISP calendar lists the classic 21.0975 km distance on road with about 10 metres of climbing: a flat course between Castelnovo di Sotto and the countryside of the lower Reggio plain. The organisers have not yet published the map or street list for 2026. The 12 km walk assembles in Piazza IV Novembre, in the town centre.

Competitive race on the UISP Reggio Emilia calendar: to run the half you need membership of a recognised body or federation and a competitive athletics medical certificate.
