The race
The Mývatnsmaraþon takes place on Saturday 29 May 2027 around Lake Mývatn in north Iceland, on a flat asphalt loop through landscapes renowned for their natural beauty. The marathon starts at 10:00, the half at 12:00 and the 10 km at 13:00; the marathon time limit is 6 hours.
Entry includes a voucher for the Jarðböðin nature baths, a burger and a beer at the finish. The marathon costs ISK 13,900 until 1 March, then 14,900; online registration closes on 28 May.
