The race
The Pignoletto Run is a race through the vineyards of the Pignoletto hills in Valsamoggia, starting and finishing in Piazza Garibaldi in Bazzano. The third edition takes place on Sunday 15 November 2026 and counts towards the 2026 UISP Cup Championship; the first two editions drew more than 3,000 participants.
There are three routes:
- Pignoletto Run, 17.5 km (competitive), reaching the Pignoletto district and the Abbey of Monteveglio;
- Gustosa Run, 11.3 km (competitive or Formula Special), passing several wineries;
- Family Run, 5 km, a walk with tastings of wine and local produce.
The competitive races start at 9:00, with a 3-hour time limit. Ten local wineries take part in the event and part of the proceeds goes to Nonsolo15 ONLUS, which supports families of young people with dup15q syndrome.
Course
All routes start and finish in Piazza Garibaldi, Bazzano, and are run mostly on asphalt, through the vineyards and past the wineries.
The 17.5 km follows the Gustosa Run and then extends towards the Pignoletto district and the historic Abbey of Monteveglio; the maximum elevation gain is 310 m. Roads stay open to traffic, so the highway code must be respected.
