The race
The Salento Half Marathon, organised by ASD Saracenatletica, celebrates its 40th edition on Sunday 13 December 2026 in Collepasso, in the heart of Salento. The 21.097 km half marathon starts at 9:10 from Via Roma and finishes in Piazza Dante, preceded at 9:00 by a promotional start for para-athletes. The certified course crosses the town and the provincial roads of the surrounding countryside on a practically flat route.
Fees are among the lowest in Italy: €12 without race pack, €18 to €25 with the pack depending on the number of entries. Those without 21 km in their legs can run the 13.5 km promotional race alongside the half marathon pack. All finishers receive the medal struck for the 40th edition.
Course
Start on Via Roma and finish in Piazza Dante, Collepasso. The certified 21.097 km course is both urban and rural: it alternates loops in the town centre with long stretches on the provincial roads of the Salento countryside, closed to cars and bikes and marked every kilometre. According to the map and profile published by the organisers (2018 edition), the route heads north-west towards the Abbey of San Nicola di Macugno, comes back, then sets out north-east and east along the SP361 provincial road before returning to town.
The profile is flat, between 115 and 124 metres above sea level. The promotional race stops at km 13.
