The race
The Savona International Half Marathon, known as «la corsa dei Papi», reaches its 12th edition on Sunday 15 November 2026, starting at 9:30 from Via Paleocapa, the arcaded street in the town centre, where the finish is too. The half marathon is a single loop close to the sea through Savona, Albissola Marina, Albisola Superiore and Vado Ligure; a few minutes later the competitive Ten 10K and its non-competitive version start on the same course.
Both competitive races are FIDAL-certified and listed in the World Athletics Global Calendar. Fees range from 25 to 37 euros for the half and from 15 to 23 euros for the 10 km, with a technical T-shirt and medal. There is prize money with time bonuses and a twinning with the Imperia Half Marathon, with a combined ranking. On Saturday 14 November at 3:30 pm the Family Run, a walk of about 3 km also open to dogs, starts from Piazza Sisto IV.

Course
Start and finish in Via Paleocapa, in the centre of Savona. The half marathon is a single loop along the coast: from Savona east to Albissola Marina and Albisola Superiore, then back and west to Vado Ligure, before returning to Savona. The course is on asphalt, almost always close to the sea, and certified by FIDAL and World Athletics; aid stations along the way.
For traffic reasons there are two cut-offs: km 10 after 1 hour 20 minutes and km 15 after 2 hours. The Ten 10K runs from Savona towards Albissola Marina and Albisola Superiore, turning at km 4.25 (cut-off after 45 minutes) and returning to Via Paleocapa. The official website publishes the GPX file and a video of the half marathon course.
